The messaging platform within TeamBuildr just got a huge revamp! With in-app messaging usage at an all time high and an increased focus on remote training, we rebuilt our messaging from the ground up and are excited for you to get your hands on the new "Conversations" page. Aside from a completely new look, here is what's new:
When you are on the Messaging page of the web app or mobile apps, you will now receive messages in real time - no more refreshing the page! You will also see a typing bubble when someone in the conversation is responding.
You can now easily upload photos and videos into conversations from both the web and mobile apps! On top of that, you can quickly react with GIFs at the touch of a button.
As a coach, when you create a new conversation you can choose if you want the recipients to be messaged together in a group or to send messages to each of them individually.
As a coach, you now have the ability to schedule a message within a conversation to be sent at a later time.
If you want to send messages to a set of recipients, but do not want them to be able to reply, you can now set a conversation to be "Read Only". This will allow only coaches involved in the conversation to send messages and remove the ability to reply from the athletes.
Coaches have the option to send any message as a text and/or email - just check the "Send as Email" or "Send as SMS" box before sending! We have improved our SMS deliverability and now offer full international support. **Important: Make sure to have athletes select their Country Code in their profile settings if they are experiencing any SMS deliverability issues.
The Payments Portal has quickly become one of our most used features. With this, we’re excited to continue to expand on it and get these new updates out to you!
Here's what's new:
As of today when you create a new program, you will have the option of using the original detailed Program purchase page or the new Checkout page. The Checkout page was designed to be extremely minimal for coaches who already have an existing marketing website to link from, or just want a more streamlined checkout experience.
You can view the two link options by clicking the "Program URL" from the list of Programs view or you can click the more menu ("...") for a Program and click the "Preview" option.
When cancelling a subscription in the Payments portal, you will now have the option to refund the remaining time left on the subscription to the subscriber. This can be extremely useful when you want to add a subscriber to a new program after cancelling their existing one. Selecting to refund the remaining time left on a subscription will essentially credit the subscriber's account and that credit can then be applied to to a new program purchase or returned to their bank account (this happens automatically if a new program is not purchased within a couple hours).
There is now a "Custom Font" option in the Settings tab of the Payments portal that offers a selection of alternative fonts to use for the header of your Program pages. Note: this will only apply to the header of the Program Detail pages and not the new Checkout pages.
A few months ago we started working on revamping our reporting page and wanted to share what we have completed thus far. Starting today, when you go to the current Reporting page you will see a bar at the top of the page saying "Check out the NEW Reporting Beta". Clicking this will take you to the new Reporting page where you will have up to 3 reports available - 1 is brand new and the other 2 are familiar but revamped! Here's whats new:
Prior to running any report, you will need to select who you want to include using the new selection bar on the left-hand side of the screen. In the past, you had to select who you wanted to run the report for individually for each report, but on the new Reporting page your selections will persist between reports . This will allow you to run several reports for a specific group of athletes much more efficiently.
The Activity Report is a brand new report that is available to all TeamBuildr customers. The goal of the Activity Report is to give coaches the ability to get a quick snapshot of their athletes' latest workout activity, next scheduled workout and the last scheduled workout on their calendar.
Pro Tip: Clicking a section of the charts at the top of the report will filter the list of athletes in the table below them.
The Max Report is one of the most used reports in TeamBuildr and while we kept all of it's original functionality, we added some big new features:
- A custom time frame can now be selected - it no longer just defaults to the athletes' current max/pr
- A chart is now generated at the top of the report that pulls together the average value for each item selected on the report. Selecting an athlete from the table below the chart will update the values and compare them to the current group of selected athletes.
- Body Weight is now available as a column toggle after selecting (it doesn't have to be added as an exercise on the first panel anymore).
The Raw Data Report output remains the same from the previous version, but we have tried to make the data selection process much easier - including a more user friendly date range picker!
We look forward to hearing your feedback on the new Reporting beta page. We will continue to add reports to this page as we complete them, but wanted to get some of these in your hands in the meantime!
Goals in TeamBuildr can now be set as a percentage of another exercise or bodyweight (Eg: Back Squat Goal = 200% of Bodyweight)! You will now see an option to switch the goal input from a specific value to a percentage. Doing so will make an additional dropdown appear that lets you choose which exercise/item the goal should be derived from. TeamBuildr will use the current PR for that exercise/item and the percentage you set to determine the goal shown to the athlete.
In addition to the percentage-based goal setting we also added some filtering options to the Goals page in an effort to make it easier for coaches to navigate. Here are some things to note:
As a reminder goals can be set for:
The Journal has become an important source of information for coaches and athletes - especially over the last year. While it is great to be able to go to the Journal page and read through entries, we (and a lot of our customers) thought it would be useful to be able to refer to the Journal while programming on the calendar.
So, we are are excited to announce today that the Journal is now a widget on your Calendar Sidebar. To start using this widget, you just need to click the "Sidebar" button on the bottom left side of the Calendar page and then click the "Journal" button when the sidebar appears.
Here are a few things to note as you get started using the new Journal widget:
When the Journal first loads, you will see your own personal Journal. This is a great place to add some notes/reminders that come up a lot while programming as it will be the first set of entries you see.
If you would like to view a specific athlete's Journal, you can select their name from the athlete dropdown box at the top of the widget OR you can simply switch to an athlete's calendar and TeamBuildr will automatically load their Journal for you. This will let you view any public entries made by the athlete as well as any private entries made by you or any other coaches on TeamBuildr.
You can filter the entries even further by selecting an exercise from the second dropdown at the top of the widget OR you can just click the icon next to a programmed exercise and TeamBuildr will automatically filter the entries for you. You will be able to refer to any notes the athlete recorded for this exercise during a workout and any entries coaches made specific to this exercise (this can be extremely helpful while programming individually).
Clicking the green add ("+") button at the bottom right will pop open a window to let you add a Journal Entry into the selected athlete's Journal (or your own if you do not have an athlete selected). It will also let you add an entry for a specific exercise if you have the Journal filter for an exercise - this is a brand new feature that we added just for the sidebar!
If you are new to TeamBuildr and haven't used the Journal before or you need a refresher on what it can do, check out our support video here.
It has been exciting to see a lot of coaches activate their Payments Portal over the last couple months! We have added some updates that will now help you offer additional types of programs as well as make creating programs more straight forward.
One of the most common pieces of feedback we received when we first launched the payment portal was that coaches wanted to option to sell a program for a certain number of months only. With this update you will now be able to set a Maximum # of Billing Cycles which will automatically cancel a subscription after a certain number of charges.
For example, if you wanted to sell a 3 month program - you would set the "Billing Frequency" to "Monthly" and then set the "Max Billing Cycles" to 3. This means the subscriber would be charged 3 times and then their subscription would be cancelled. After that, they can then go back and purchase another program from you!
We have always set out to be very upfront and honest about our pricing at TeamBuildr and we wanted that to reflect on the Payments Portal as well. You will now see a detailed breakdown of how much you will make on a sale of your program after the Credit Card Processing Fees and TeamBuildr Fees are deducted.
When you select a the workout calendar that a subscriber will be assigned to upon successful purchase of a program, you will now see two options to select from:
When a subscriber cancels their subscription or their subscription ends after they have fulfilled their payment obligation, they get moved into the "Cancelled" section. At that point the cancelled subscriber can go purchase another program from you on their own, but you can now also add them to another program right from the Payments Portal. This will keep past customers from having to go through the registration and payment process again if they want to switch programs or begin a new program.
